Where Classical Music Spends The Summer
The Brevard Music Center is located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, and is a magical place where the music of Beethoven, Mozart, and Verdi comes to life and fills the air.
As one of the country’s premier music training programs and festivals, the Brevard Music Center attracts more than 400 gifted young musicians from all around the globe every summer, who come to study with distinguished faculty and renowned guest artists. They work together to put on over 80 concerts for more than 40,000 enthusiastic fans, who travel from across the country to the Brevard Music Center’s lovely wooded 180-acre campus.
Many of the Summer Festival concerts are free and open to the public, and for those that require tickets, seats start at just $15. Music-lovers are invited to bring their own food and beverages and enjoy a pre-concert picnic on the lawn, or you can also purchase delectable treats on campus to enjoy while you listen to the music.
Past performances have included world-class soloists like Itzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, and Frederica Von Stade, non-classical artists such as Amy Grant, Béla Fleck, Garrison Keillor, Steep Canyon Rangers, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Marvin Hamlisch, Peter, Paul and Mary, PDQ Bach, and Michael Feinstein, and fully-staged operas like Rigoletto, Così fan tutte, Madama Butterfly, Don Giovanni, La bohème, The Ballad of Baby Doe, Albert Herring, Sweeney Todd, and Falling Angel.
